To make India a disaster resilient Country.

  • To assess the vulnerability factors in the marginalized communities consisting of fisher folks, Dalits, Tribals etc. in Tamil Nadu & Puducherry in India and to identify their capacity to cope with the situations before the disaster, during the disaster and after it.
  • To identify the leaders from the base communities in risks and give them training on disaster preparedness, response and recovery, and to establish Community Disaster Preparedness Task Forces further with evacuation, search and rescue plans and relief mechanisms in the area of operation.
  • To put in place disaster preparedness mechanisms in identified villages in the state of Tamil Nadu & Puducherry.
  • To mitigate the hazardous zone through community risk assessment incorporating government approval for implementation.
  • To establish a working relationship among volunteers, response teams, community task forces, Local governments and other agencies [NGO and INGO] to make a sustainable model in disaster management.
  • To generate information reporting and monitoring tools for preparedness, immediate response and damage assessment, according to the socio-economic conditions of urban and rural areas.
  • To undertake studies to facilitate the preparation of a comprehensive ‘Disaster Management Plan’ for both the state and the districts to help the Government in providing uniform directives from the state government to the district administration, and to establish standardized response to any disaster situation.
  • To establish educational and training institutions for educating communities, revenue, rural development, teaching staff and students and other government department staff in the areas of “Disaster management” and “Climate Change”.
  • To act as a nodal agency for the execution of Disaster Management and Climate Change schemes of the INGO, state and central government of India.
  • To print and publish newspapers, periodicals, books, advertisements, brochures and leaflets, which the Society may consider necessary for promoting its objects;
  • To provide scholarships and awards after the examinations held by the trust.
  • To accept a gift, purchase, take on lease, hire, construct and maintain or otherwise acquire any movable or immovable property.
  • To accept and receive subscriptions, fees, gifts, donations and grants in cash or kind provided that the conditions, if any, attached thereto are not inconsistent with the objects of the Society.
  • To organise classes for imparting education and training by conducting examinations or tests in one or more aspects of Disaster Management either by itself or in collaboration with other institutions having similar authorization to award Certificates, Diplomas and etc.
  • To establish early warning system in disaster prone areas in collaboration with government.
